Compton Verney

Compton Verney is an award winning art gallery which offers enjoyable ways to experience art. Housed in a Grade I listed Georgian mansion set in 'Capability' Brown landscaped parkland, Compton Verney is home to six collections of works of art from around the world including Naples 1600-1800, Germanic art 1450-1650, British portraits including Reynolds, exceptional collection of Chinese bronzes, the UKs largest collection of British Folk Art and the Marx-Lambert collection.

There is an exciting program of changing exhibitions, which for 2016 includes Shakespeare in Art:Tempests, Tyrants and Tragedy, Britain in the Fifties: Design and Aspiration, Picasso on Paper and Queen Victoria in Paris: Watercolours from the Royal Collection.

In the grounds you can enjoy picnicking amongst our sculptures and exploring our wild flower meadow. Compton Verney welcomes families and has plenty to do, from trails, backpacks and arty activities to an exciting adventure playground.

Traditional afternoon tea and lunch is served in the waitress served restaurant or grab a quick snack in the café.
